insurance cost

Post by f90x »

i'm currently with carole nash but i've had a quick look at ebike and got a quote but it is quite expensive at £406.35 which is only a few quid less than i paid for my fireblade last year. now, i know i live in central london but the bike is kept in a brick garage in beaconsfield and is insured as 'kept at that address'.

i'm 42 with full no claims and use it for about 5000 miles a year (iknow, a lightwieght but i do live and work in central london remember) is there anyone with a similar description and if so what are you paying and with whom?

yours, about to be fleeced

I'm 49, live in Essex, got 3 years NCB and I've got a 2 bike, (K75 & R1100S), TPF&T policy from BMW insurance. Annual mileage 5000, policy also includes Euro insurance cover.

Cost - £100 a year.

My spec is similar to Doug's, out in Warwickshire from BMW insurance at the same price. I had a look around at renewal time and was surprised to see that BMW was in line with the market.

I'm clearly being stitched somewhere. They are aware of the PC3 and the Lazers but even so it does seem a bit high, especially when my blade was the same amount.

Cliff, do you live in a particularly qiuet/safe area?

Tripe, what mods are they that you have declared? That's an amazing price for London, is it fully comp?

Oh, and Doug... I think you'll find the gunmetal grey ones are fastest :D

My quote from CN was £260 fully comp for 52 plate Boxer Cup - I'm 46 with 7 yrs no claims. They also wanted £42 to cover the next 54 days to my current renewal date.

I just got a quote from BMW and it is £143 - no contest, will use BMW Insurance.

Weird - the above is the opposite of the post by Cliff.

I too was with BMW Insurance for the first year but went to E-Bike this time last year after reading a thread on here.

BMW were £163 fully Comp. E-Bike quoted £116.

Insurance due again next month and good old E-Bike are down to £98. :D

I am 42 with full, protected NCB but the bike is worth less then 3K and I have the policy limited to 5,000 miles per year. It does however come with 30 days cover for Europe.

As they say boys; its a Post Code thing. Although we need to have some perks for living in Aberdoom.
