I'm interested to know whether it is possible to dismantle a stock front shock to remove the spring. If so, does anybody know whether it is possible to swap a standard spring onto a BMW sport shock? I'm fairly sure the sport shock is longer but I'm not sure if the spring itself is longer ...

I found a wiring diagram for the heated grips and it looks like the grips get straight 12v for their full heat setting with 1.9 ohms resistor added for the reduced heat setting. Should be no drama to rig up my own wiring.

I'm looking at retrofitting genuine heated grips to my 98 model, I'm hoping somebody can answer my wiring question given my workshop manual doesn't include a wiring diagram.

Does the factory grips only have a single heat setting (ie on or off)? If so, do the grips work by being provided ...

I've got a Laser boxercup I muffler on my R1100s, and was curious to take out the dB killers to see what effect it has on the sound.

Google tells me to drill out the spot weld on the bottom of the exhaust tip.

Thing is, I can't figure out which one to drill? There is a single hole on the ...

That probably won't be a problem for me over here, where winter involves being slightly cold but not much else.

Thanks for the info. I am only really concerned about the brakes failing as it happened on my fathers R1150RT whilst we were riding through some high speed twisties. He wasn't particularly impressed.
