tyre supplier

Post by oyster »

I called in at my local bike shop/tyre fitter. He checked his book for Pilot Road 2 and got so embarassed; £135 front and £165 for the 180 rear. He said he would fit my supplied tyres for £6.00 per loose wheel (£3 old off + £3 new on).
I have just found Pilot Road (old style)the pair on ebay at £148 + £7 post. Incredible. I also located Road Attacks at £133 the pair. Pilot Road 2 £174 pair.

I've just had a couple of quotes for PR2s, dealer £265 + vat (£311), and a tyre specialist £238 incl vat, valves and balance (and disposal), Quite a difference.

Round + Black agreed that Pilot Road 2 are the current 'in' tyre. Have just had their first replacement set customer who is very happy with 8k on the recently worn out pair.
