A great ride out today

Post by madman »

Just got back from a great ride. Weather is good 16C and sunny. Roads are empty and we just did a 70 mile round trip to visit some friends, they only live 20 miles away. Stopped at a little cafe overlooking the Dordogne and Vesier rivers, had a cup of coffee in the sun.
The wife tells me her bike is better now that I have cleaned the seat so that it is not as slippery as it was. Must get a new battery for hers as it does not turn over as well as it did.

Had a heat wave here today,
Caroline & I took the dogs up to the beach at Wells next the sea.
OK, part of that was not true  .

Aren't you sick of that place yet?
Don't you miss the fens?
Obviously not!

I might be coming through your way in September, I am planing a trip to Gibraltar via Santander and the Pico's, then back through France passing through Eymet to visit friends.

May see you then.

Mike.

Beautiful dry & bracing day here in Soctland. 6 degrees, roads covered in salt and a cold north wind. Still, good to be out on the bike even if I resembled the Michelin man with all my layers of clothes.

You are most welcome Mike, drop in anytime you are in the area. PM me nearer the time and I'll give you directions and contact numbers. Jude and I know most of the thrilling roads around here now, so if you want a quick blast you can leave your luggage here and we'll burn some rubber.
That goes for any other Boxertrix members too.

Sorry Ron, but as you are just up the road, with no channel to cross, you can visit too. It must be just a few hours ride for you.
