GS handguards on an R1100s?

Post by chinachile »

Being a southern poofter and only liking lightweight gloves I am wondering if it is an easy fix to put some GS handguards onto my 2002 S for winter.

The heated handgrips are fine for my palms but my fingers are freezing. Has anyone tried doing this?

Not sure about GS Handguards,.. but Oxford Muffs work a treat. (Unless you'v moved the bars above the yoke)

I would have thought that they would fit - the controls look the same to me?

Let us all know if you manage to fit them though!

Cheers

See if that works .....

Have done it on my 's'. My bars are above the top yoke.
You will have to cut the bar clamp section off (nothing to clamp it to).
Leave enought to drill and lockwire to your brake and clutch banjos.
If I knew how to post a photo I could show you mine.

I also use Bagster muffs. They zip open so can slide easily over the hand guards. Then they dont blow back onto the levers at speed.

e-mail me if you want some pictures, and I can e-mail them back.
