RH Brake Disk Loose

Post by Dickie2679 »

My RH brake disk is loose & rattles about at low speed, the LH disk also has some movement. What is wrong, & what can I do to fix the problem.

Thanks

Ok, I've taken one of the torx bolts out of the disk & the bush looks worn, how much is a set of bushs going to cost for one disk?

Dickie,

They all do that sir. Before you buy a new wheel or set of bushes, try some BMW wavy washers behind the bush. Several folks on here have used this solution successfully.

Cheers,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Get the PFM washers from Motorworks.
Heat the torx bolts before undoing to losen the loctite.
Clean threads with tap and re loctite.

Job done, new bushes & bolts fitted & the disk does not move :) (very slight movement only) £20.00 for the parts.
