Checking the oil level?

Post by Bender »

Necessity is the mother of invention they say. BMW make the bikes I like but some bits strike me as being a bit stoopid. Like putting the oil level sight glass in the lower left engine casing below the left pot, and then not fitting a centre stand.

This means that to check the oil you have to hold the bike vertical with one hand while squatting down to try to see if you need to top the oil up. Precarious to say the least. The solution comes from a part of an old mic stand, some gaffer tape and an unwanted mirror from my son's old Honda 125. Might have to patent it...

Yep, but with some added spare bits from a not so sporty one, to keep it going.

Absolutely. Unfortunately progress on the fanny magnet has been very slow...

Apparently the fanny magnet thing has something to do with location - an ugly work colleague of mine went to Thailand and he claims it turned him into a fanny magnet
