i took my bike to james sherlock as my abs lights were flashing showing a fault he put it on the tester then told me it was a problem with the modulater and it would cost me around £200 for a second hand 1 and around £150 to fit it last night i used the information on here to reset the fault on the abs and the the fault must of been the low voltage on the battery cause everything is working as usual without the flashing light so please do not believe everything these people tell you it has cost me a couple of quid for some wire and crocadile clips its a lot better than the £350 they were going to charge me if he had just reset it when i had it booked in like i asked it would of saved all this hassle
thank you james sherlock there is a limited amount of bmw owners so you think you would not try and rip off the ones you have
has you can guess i will not use them again

One local dealership told a friend of mine they wouldn't be able to look at the ABS fault on his K1 as it was too old but told to take it to some guy in Bolton or Preston way, which is a bit of a hike from North Wales. He called the guy who quoted £80 to reset the lights.
I did it for free for him in a couple of minutes with an earthed wire ....

I don't have ABS on my R11 but do on my old K75S. I had a few battery problems a few years ago and after upgrading my battery had the flashing warning lights. After a bit of research resetting it was as easy as earthing a cable under the side panel whilst pressing the ABS button. Must have been easy as even I could manage it!!!

yes i had a constant earth from the frame to pin 2 (brown/blue wire)in the round block under my seat near the tank, then i lifted the tank to get to the block connector attached to the abs (because on my 1100s i dont have the abs button) then i took the back off the block connector and placed a wire into pin 21 connected the plug back on to the abs, then i switched on the ignition and then earthed pin 21 for 30 seconds then lifted it off switched off the ignition removed the earths and turned the ignition back on, they flashed together as they are supposed to all in all about 1/2 hours work due to lifting of the tank ( i didn't remove the tank fully i just raised it up and tied it off to my garage roof)
