Tony has replied, so I am booked in and have also booked onto the same Eurotunnel train as Paul.
New tyres are fitted, so just need the travel insurance now.
Cheers John

Great news, John - I notice that Tony's only got 1 spare place for our weekend now.
Mulling over whether to re-tyre the VFR in readiness for the trip. The rear's half worn - and knowing how the Diablo Strada/Z6 goes from looking ok to 'yikes' in a very short space of time...

Still says 5 slots available on Tony's website.
Yes I put new tyres on in readiness as the recent Welsh GP weekend saw a 2000 mile old rear Bridgestone totally gone and spinning up in the wet at 2200 miles.

Strange - refreshed my browser and it's still showing 1 slot on here.
Hmmm...tyres; decisions decisions....
Can get a pair of PR2's for 160 quid, which I always liked.

Yes Tony is now showing 1 slot left here on my pc as well now.
I just got a pair of Mich PR3's for £224 including the vodka and tonic.
But there is a Michelin promo at the moment which gives you back £35 on PR4's, PR3's and some other sports and adventure tyres which brings it back to £190.
Ends July 31st, but you have to buy the pair at the same time and register online etc..

You also get money back on a single tyre, just not as much.

Nearly time.
Quick message to Greg, Steve & Phil:
Think we need to suss out a meeting point for thursday evening? We have to be at the ferry terminal at least 45 mins prior to scheduled departure time (which is the 2245 sailing). If I remember correctly there's a Shell filling station on the Mile End Road, just south of the turn off for the terminal.
It means riding south, past the terminal (which will be on your right) onto the next roundabout, double-back and the Shell station is on the left. I think there's a Morrison's supermarket just off the roundabout too.
I was hoping to stop off at a friend's gaff in W London on the way down for a cuppa around tea time but he's not at home on thursday so looks like I'll be doing the trip in one hit. Hope to get to Portsmouth around 8pm and grab some scoff at the Golden T*ts of America or some such.
If you guys want to give me a ring I think you've got my phone number - if you haven't, just throw me a pm and I'll let you know.
We'll meet Paul & John at the Boule d'Or at Mulsanne for butties and coffee on friday late morning/lunchtime.
Edit: Shell station is at PO2 7SB

Hi Richard,
Any idea roughly what time you will be at the lunch stop? Me and John are staying in Le Mans on Thursday night and will probably poke our noses around the door to the museum at the circuit in the morning.
Cheers,
Paul

Hi Paul - if it makes life easier, how about we meet up at the Museum then head off to the Café for a spot of lunch after that?
Not been to the museum for a while, and it's always worth a look around, and a photo-opp too.
Ferry gets in at 0645, dare say we'll be on the road by 0730-0800ish so about 2.5 hours (on N roads) to Le Mans puts us at the Museum by 1030-1100. An hour's wander around then off for some lunch.

Perfect. We'll look out for you at the museum then.
Cheers,
Paul

Will give you a ring at some point anyway once we're well underway...not at 0645 though.
