Exhaust manifold crud.

Post by Boxerlass »

Hi
Does anyone know how to get rid of the crud that seems to build up on the exposed exhaust pipes? Wet and dry? Autosolve? Is it due to oxidisation? - forgive my non-techie language!

Fine grade steel wool and autosol seem to do the job, but if you have access to a polishing wheel even better, the more highly you polish them the less cruddy they get and the easier they are to keep shiney 8)

Thanks chaps, I'll have a go with the elbow grease stuff that you suggest, then tackle the beers afterwards!

Hi Boxerlass,

Get hold of a tin of Blue Job from Woodys, very good stuff for cleaning the exhausts.

Garyson garyflex blocks they are rubberised blocks better than wet and dry nd work quicker and better than wet and dry paper.
Use the fine grade with a bit of solvol autsol then polish with solvol autsol 2 hours start to finish for the first time then subject to your own effort about 30 mins if done reguirely.
