before i build the bmw, i did 50cc bikeracing together with my dad. i did it for 7 years. when we did that we learned a lot about changing things.
we raced with a zundapp.
when we stopped, i started build a suzuki rgv 250 with a suzuki dr 800 engine in it.
also magnesium rims, kawasaki zx-6r fork with radial calipers, and loads of other things.
was a fun project and i still have it. sides insane on small roads, but the highway sucks...
and last year when i was building the bmw and couldn´t ride it i had a changed Honda cb400f from 1977.
put a cagiva mito fork in it and made a rearfork. and the magnesium rims from the suzrgv800.
had some great time with it.....it wasn´t fast.....160km/h....but in corners i past the big bikes like r1 and gsxr1000´s on in and outside....hahaha.
in a straiht line it the flew past me.

I see that you got rid of the airbox and fitted cone filters, did you fit a new chip and set it up on a dyno?
there´s already an other chip in it, but i have to go on the dyno. i want to put a Rapid Bike on, sow it can be optimalized.
now its running to rich on low rpm its very thirsty....

thanks, also like the origional r1100s, but i can´t keep my hands of a bike.....any bike....i have to changes things...hahaha.
the bmw is now 35 kilo lighter than the origional one.
origional: 230 kilo.
mine: 195 kilo.

you don´t need my skills to make something nice of youre 400/4. just build it the way you like it.
its even more awesome if you can change youre bike with very few tools.
just give it a try.
