This bike is so cool (HP2S).

I did a track day at Brands last Tuesday on my '04 BCR, and was completely bowled over by how good the front end is at speed. Had the bike from new, but really pushed it on the track and no drama's, just solid and predictable. The bike was brilliant on the Indy circuit, as top end is not generally an issue, so some of the Jap superbike boys had a few red faces !!

Yonkyo, have you thought about a track day on the HP2S ? Mine doesn't arrive until later in the year, so can only dream about how well it will go on the track. Would be interested to hear if you do.

Lucky fella, very envious.

BTW - that is a big old Zorst on that ZX10 !

I would really love to take my HP2S to, say, Donington or Cadwell. But i suffer from 'Red Mist Syndrome' and i get to competitive on track, which has resulted in me having 2 big crashes on track days in the last 4 years.
However, both of my Offs were at my local track Castle Combe and i never had any moments at other circuits (i love Donington personally).

Me at Cadwell

Still, not to take the HP2S on track would be such a waste of this machines potential. With some track tyres fitted, it will make an awesome track tool 8) .

Yes that exhaust on the zx10r is horrendous (and its sounds like a sewing machine  ).

Agree with all your comments...............however what about the mirrors? Have you found any optional items that allow you to see anything other than your elbows?

Hello peeps

For anyone remotely interested in the HP2S and local the Swindon and isn't lucky enough to be having fun in Wales today (i wish i could've been there :( ).

As I’m working not far away from Swindon. I'll be riding my HP2S up to George Whites this morning (i think they have some sort of event on today).

I’ll be getting there for about 1130 ish and staying for about an hour or so.

Cheers
Brian

I've found nothing to extend the mirrors yet and the lack of rear vision is getting quite annoying. still thats the price one pays for a having a race rep. :?

Do you have your HP2S yet? :?: Lets see some pics and comments if you have.

Yup, I've had it for just over 2 weeks and have just completed the 600 for the service (and engine re-mapping!).

Love it to bits already (apart from the mirrors) but it's not being serviced until next Saturday.................I'll make a few more comments then!

Not much point in posting any photos for the moment.............it's exactly the same as yours, right down to the Ilmberger hugger.......I'll sort some in due course.

There is a good road test in PB magazine this month. Where they ride the HP2S on what used to be one of my favourite roads (before it got to popular with the Gwent Gestapo…sorry…Police  ).

I went for another good blast with my mates last weekend. God I love this bike. I know I keep saying this, but even though the HP2S doesn’t have the peak horse power of other sports bikes.
It nevertheless has so much real world – real road ability, it is quite astoundingly good. :D

The lads meet up before the blast down to West Bay....

The MCN comic is doing a comparison test next week. With the HP2S up against the RC8 and RSVR etc.
Now that should be interesting.

As for the RC8. I had a good long ride on one last week. And although it feels like has more peak power.
I just wasn’t able to ride as fast on that, as I can on my HP2S. mainly due to the overly hard suspension, the dodgy gear box and very snatchy fuelling.
Now I’m sure that all these things can be sorted, but it spoiled the experience for me. :(

we need to see a pic with the panniers fitted :D

Cracking bike - given the choice between the HP2S, RC8 and 1098 - it'd be the BMW for me. (sorry, Chris  )

Now stop tormenting us

Al :D
If I am ever on life support - Unplug me......
Then plug me back in..........

See if that works .....

I put my deposit on an HP2S in Jan, only to be told I wouldn't get one until September, which has moved again to December  So, to cover all bases, I stuck another deposit on an RC8 in early Feb [smilie=stop here.gif]

However, after a test ride on the RC8, there were too many niggles as mentioned by Yonkyo, but mostly with the snatchy fueling. Don't get me wrong, it's a great bike, but not perfect...

I'll wait for the HP2S - got a test ride next Friday at Vines in Guildford :D BTW - they have an HP2S with ABS up for grabs at £15.5k if anyone is interested ? The bloke who ordered it is off to Australia, but has ordered another one for when he returns next year ! They offered it to me, but don't want the ABS option :(

I had a ride on the demo a couple of weeks ago at Bahnstormers and once you've ridden it you'll know the HP2 is the bike to have.

For me, its the gearbox coupled with the low (ish) revs that really mean you do mad speeds without that tiresome feel of having to ring a bike neck to get there.

2 weeks to go to delivery (but BMW said that in March) :x

...Dutch magazine Motor already did that...
...and the 'winner' was...

...RC8...

...they compared the :

- Aprilia RSV
- Ducati 1098 S
- KTM RC8
- BMW HP2Sport
- and the Buell 1125 (or something like that)

...three movies : here !
