Daytona 675

Post by stoney »

Has anyone owned one of these before? I think Blackal did.

As you know, Hannah has the Street Triple and I just love the engine but the bikes just a bit too small for me to get comfortable on. The Daytona looks a lot taller. I was thinking of getting one as a bit of a toy for road and track use.

Any comments? I'm 6ft (and 16stone ), do you think I could live with it (I'll be keeping the R12)? Anything to look out for if I buy used? I know they use oil but thats not a problem.....I have a BM after all.

Not me....................

I had a Daytona 650, which I thought was a cracking bike :D Probably the most comfortable of the "600 class" and plenty of mid-range torque.

The 675 is reputed to be a cracking bike, but pretty small and fairly "track-focussed". You'd need to get a day-long test ride, I think - to make sure that it fit you.

The looks are so good..................... Ducati decided to copy the lighting for their 1098

cheers Al.

I've decided thatca 675 is out of my budget. I'm going to look at a k5 gsxr600 today, which by all accounts is a cracking all rounder...For a 600.

Fancy a blade of 52/53 reg era meself. Have looked them up for a while and they're a bloody good value bike.
There are pretty significant differences between them according to teh rags but they both look really good value quick bikes to me

I've not done any reading on them at all. Just always fancied one and our IAM group Chairman has a nice one that I have always fancied buying if he was to ever sell it (he's had it since new and done 15k on it).

So, I woke up this morning ready to go and buy the gixxer and an email turned up from the IAM that had his bike on for sale. I phoned him up and arranged to go and see this morning. I went with the cash and rode it home this afternoon.

I've been out playing all afternoon on it and its really good fun!

i had one before the 's' i loved having it but too uncomfortable for me on long runs and also too bloody fast for the speed limits and camera's. it's groove is too high and i like to hoon on a bit so it had to go. i still think it's one of the best looking bikes ever made too... if it's the white one 8)

Both great colour schemes for that bike :D

I err towards the black/white one, but they both flatter the bike.

Stoney - Looks like your daughter must be doing about 110mph!
