These things were all decided a while ago.

Ho Ho,unfortunately not i'm afraid, although a bet some people wished it had been!!!!!!

As for the HP2 not a snowballs chance in hell of selling, maybe at £10,000, not enough die hard BM punters prepared to put their money were their mouths are.

DVD display cases??? The problem with both the bikes we are considering is that they both have unique parts. If, for example, Ducati are unhappy about the supply of the very special Ohlins for the RR, then they can just go elsewhere and buy them from.............er Ohlins. The same applies with Brembo, Marchesini and Bridgestone etc etc - not to mention the makers of the carbon fibre bodywork with the ceramic exhaust outlets. That makes the situation very different to DVD cases. The deal for all these was negotiated and tied up in a contract that was finalised some time ago. It has to be - it cannot work any other way. To misquote James May " and that is a bike fact".

These things were all decided a while ago.

I leave the premises for a few days and look what happens!
Put your toys back in the pram and stop phoning me to mediate between the pair of you please because you are both right, just looking from different perspectives.

What if - the Desmothingy started with an agreed 200 with the suppliers back in the mists of time when the thing was a current race bike. Deals were done, prices fixed, deposits taken etc. Demand is now considerably more than 200 but the production schedule is the usual protracted Italian pantomime and punters won't actually get their bikes untill 2010. Doesn't that give Ducati enough lead time to get another batch of everything in the pipeline ?

Didn't think you let smokers on your premises  but if you are desperate I have two on the shelf, ex-stock, no lead time

Don't get involved,we know each other far better than you think we do  and i'm still relying on Mr Sandbar to sort out my broken piece of bling,of which there are very few about.

Thank you very much Mr Boxerpan, the ash trays will become a bit like Motocourse books with a bit of luck

Is it one of these? I've got one fitted and it came in very handy once.

RC - respect on that journey. The M5 is a bore in warm weather let alone subzero.
