Rear Hugger
Was out for a spin yesterday and when I got back and parked the bike up in the garage I noticed that the rear hugger had sheared off. It's broken at the metal part just before it joins into the carbon fibre. All the bolts are tensioned correctly so it's metal fatigue that has just busted the part. I think it's a Wunderlich unit which fits the larger rear wheel (5.5"). Completely knaff !! I looked in the Wunderlich catalogue and they are asking £156 for a new unit so there is no way I'm paying that. Does anyone know of where I can get a replacement at a half decent price ? I'm not bothered about it being carbon fibre but something that is robust enough and up to the job.

If it's the Ilmberger hugger sold by Blunderlich, Mr Sandbar on this site is the UK importer. Might be worthwhile contacting him for a replacement at a preferential Boxertrix rate...

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
Sandbar has been absolutely brilliant over this. The hugger fitted to my bike is the Ilmberger unit and as he is the UK importer of that make he is going to replace the unit for the cost of the P + P.
I was'nt sure if I should post this message as I don't want to encourage a whole load of people returning parts to him but had to sing the praises of someone who has gone out of his way to help. He has been very generous. If I need to replace any fibreglass parts in future such as the front fender etc then I'm definitely going to be buying from him, no question. Hopefully this message may encourage others to do likewise.
