ZZR1400

Postby sproggy » Fri May 18, 2007 11:41 am

I was feeling pretty happy that since my dyno session last week I've been benefitting from 96bhp and 73lbft at the rear wheel.....and then I just read a review of the ZZR1400 and that has 197bhp and 113lbft :?

Can't remember what my Blackbird had but I know Honda quoted 164bhp - I think the torque was about the same as the 1100S, though. The ZZR must be something else entirely...

Has anyone ridden the ZZR? One went past me this morning - the first one I've seen on the road. Good looking bike, actually - better than it looks from photos. But no vibration at all, apparently - not a proper bike, then

Agreed. That's why I'm riding a boxer instead of my beautiful, smooth but ultimately boring Blackbird. Thing is, I'm a bit of a speed freak and 'ultimates' intrigue me..... Above 150mph it's all a bit academic, but it's the way the ZZR is reported to reach that speed (extremely rapidly!) that I'd like to experience....just once......or perhaps a handful of times........or......there's space in my garage for another bike...... :blob8:

Much more bike for the money than the K1200S, which I found rather uninspiring when I had it for an extended test ride.

I've seen a couple of the Z14's on the road and as has been said they look a lot better in the flesh, especially the blue and the black models. However if the wife spotted 4 bikes instead of 3 in the garage, well lets just say it would not be pretty......

Oddly enough from the people i've spoken to,it's how agile it is,thats the shock not the hp,get a 4/1 on it and it looks half the size.

I too have a 97 blackbird,i bought it cus it was cheap and needed something to get to lemans on.Its got a dyno jet kit and laser carbon race cans.I caned the poo out of it in france, sticking to the autoroutes where i could.I had it flat out whenever i could because that was the only way that bike could put a smile on my face. However my neck muscles paid the price!
Had a good run there and back.Set of a few speed cameras too which scared the shit out of my mate on his tl1000.I didnt tell him they were forward facing until we were on the ferry.
If i cant sell it,i may street fighter it. :P
