Mini Indicators

Postby high_tower » Tue Mar 06, 2007 8:58 am

Has anyone tried to fit any mini indicators to their S yet?

i've been wanting to change mine so while doing another job i thought i'd trace the wiring for the indicators. it just seems to run under the rear subframe and sandwich itself between the arch and heatshield.

is there any easy way to change the indicators or am i going to have to just get stuck in?

Unless they're LED lights don't do it. The piddly bulbs pop at amazingly frequent intervals and are prone to vibration damage.

What about something like this, Dennis who sells them is a great guy to deal with.

i have already bought a set of motrax led indicators. just having a bit of an arse trying to find where the cable from the indicator goes. it seems to go up the underside of the subframe and isn't that easy to trace.

also bought a new relay kit just incase. where would i find it to change on the BM?

anyone actually done a half decent job of fitting indicators?

I and a few others on the board had kellermans mini indicators fitted.Harris sell them.Really nice and come with the resistors you need to correct the flash rate. Not cheap but quality is top.Fit into standard indicator holes with a bit of filing.

High Tower

I've had mine on for 4/5 years at least, don't make the mistake(like i did) of trying to trace the wires, leave e'm be,and just roll up the excess wire then at least you can go back to standard if you want at a latter date without any hassle.

Pull wire out of the original indicators,it'll pull through the rubber gromit no problem, and then just change the connector on the mini ones to fit the original.
