Autocom

Post by Boxadog 2000 »

Well have now finally got the Autocom system all set up, have just been out for a quick test.

All seems quite audible at about 70mph (ok 80) fairly clear reception of phone and Ipod but GPS is a bit muted, could be because its only mono as it is an older model Streetpilot 3.

Oh and listening to Dire Straights makes you ride too fast.

Bob

Technology has finally arrived to the Boxadog

Are there not enough distractions out there without filling your head with stadium rock from your youth :?:

Enter Sandman by Metallica if you want fast 8)
Lloyd

It's not how fast you ride, it's how you ride fast.
Light travels faster than sound. That's why some people appear
bright until you hear them speak.

I may have missed an earlier thread? Which Autocom? The new one with Bluetooth?
I have the old one and the MP3 is inaudible above 40mph, the Quest is O.K but the phone, when connected (yes Dear I'll wire it up so that you can ring me! ) needed me to slow from Motorway speeds to hear!
It's probably me :-(

Adie, a mate, has the new Autocom and rates it highly though.

Roll on Friday and loads of Boxerbollox weeeee!

No, no, no - try listening to The Prodigy. That's when it all goes wrong... I'm a firestarter [violent head bang] punking instigator [violent head bang] and repeat...
Forgive me father for I have sinned... ex S owner moved onto pastures new with four cylinders and a chain... and back to a twin, albeit in a V.

Iron Maiden - "Bring Me Your Daughter To the Slaughter"

or even

"Be Quick Or Be Dead" - don't think it would stand up if the rozzers took you to court though

I'd rather have an anaesthetic-free 'snip' or root canal work than play that shit again. :(

Bob,

The speakers are highly sensitive to positioning within your crash helmet. If you don't have the centre of the speaker lined up directly over your ear canal, you'll hear jack sh*t. Try fine tuning the positioning. The other option is to buy some of the ridiculously over priced moulded ear monitors, which do an excellent job of keeping out road noise whilst letting in the music.

Cheers,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.
