OT...car insurance(points don't=prizes).

Post by bigblackfalco »

Just been doing the rounds trying to find decent priced car insurance. Was horrified at some of the quotes I was given cos I've been banned for 6 months from a TT99(totting up 12 points).
Just to give you an idea;my last premium before I was banned was about £250.00 TPFT.
I have been quoted between £500.00(Churchill) and £700.00(Norwich Union 'QUOTE ME HAPPY'!!!).
Did a Google search for insurance with convictions.Got a few quotes from the specialists; From Adrain Flux I got £430.00 and then from a company called Quoteacar got the much better price of £346.00!!!
It just goes to show you how much of a scam insurance actually is,and how much it pays to shop around.

Bailey,

have you tried eBike?

Cheers,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

I did for my bike, but it came out over the odds. They can only do really cheap insurance if you have a clean licence. Also tried them for my car but they quoted £600.00!
I decided to stay with Novitas/Pilgrim(who've always looked after me) on the bike;excellent service and price.

That's odd Bailey, after my car write-off and TS10 (red light  ) last year eBike are still £200 cheaper than my nearest quote and eCar were £60 odd cheaper so got my wife's money this year with me as a named driver (read bloody liability  ).

It was definitely easier in the good ol' days before technology came along. Phoned up for a quote just before I got my licence back to be told the premium would be £900  Who's calling please? I'm not telling, thank you, good bye  Saved myself a pot of cash that year.

Adam :)
