I'm very happy with the feel and grip of the Pilot Power. Subject to wear rates I'll probably throttle back to a Pilot Sport/Road for wintertime.

First time I've used Michelin.

Z6's, had one on the front and two on the rear, as follows:

front; lasted 8k miles, blew-out at 120mph before it had reached the wear indicators in the middle, very little material in the middle which I consider to have caused the blow-out (3mm depth at that point), never will touch these again. very slippy after first 1k, only tyre I have managed to get to slide on the front wheel.

first rear; lasted 5k miles, didn't reach the wear indicators before it started to form a nasty cracking pattern down the middle with a width of three inches across and showing the carcas.

second rear; lasted 5k again, swapped for a BT020 as had a tendency of not staying inflated for more than a week for the last 3k miles.

both the rears drifted whether hot or cold, however going from BT020's, to Z6's, and back to BT020's I luv me 020's, first thing I noted with the new rear 020 fitted was that I had no sliding from the back end at all from start and it still feels luvly

Z6's, they were out to kill me :o

Julian, there has been talk in the past about Pilot Sports not being quick to warm there in the UK. Something to do with the ambient temperatures, I think. ;)

I had my front twitch this morning when cool (about 18C and one the road for a minute) but once they have properly warmed I haven't had a problem. But this is in Aussie temps. I wouldn't recommend them for winter as I reckon you will have a bugger of a time getting them warm there, though I haven't a issue with grip in the wet (once warm).

If you are thinking Michellin, Pilot Roads would be a better choice (and last longer to boot).

BT020s good

Pilot Powers better!

Though an interesting shape which causes the bike to drop a little faster than expected when new...about 5 minutes ;-)

As far as I can work out they have a deeper tread (as do BT014s) so last longer...if you don't just drive on motorways...

I would have thought there were more likely scenarios to a tyre twitching once within a short time of setting off and then not twitching later:

1) You naturally "ease off" a bit after the first twitch.

2) You get a better feel for the road conditions.

Plus - it is unlikely that the road surface is the same (unless you are on a track).

I don't know - I always go for the tread with the nicest/meanest looking tread pattern :D

Think I have Metzelers on just now.
If I am ever on life support - Unplug me......
Then plug me back in..........

See if that works .....
