Update!

Postby Yogi Bear » Wed Oct 07, 2020 2:34 pm

All licensed premises in Greater Glasgow and Clyde, Lanarkshire, Ayrshire and Arran, Lothian and Forth Valley must close for 16 days both indoors and outdoors. Takeaways will be permitted.

Cafes with no alcohol license can stay open until 6pm.

In those areas snooker and pool halls, indoor bowling alleys, casinos and bingo halls must also close for the same period. Indoor group exercise activities will also banned for over 18s. Gyms remain open for individual exercise.

Outdoor live events will not be permitted in the five regions. People living in those areas should also avoid public transport unless it is absolutely necessary.

People living in the five health board areas should not travel outwith their health board areas, while people living in other parts of Scotland should not travel to the areas.

Nationwide, with the exception of those five health boards, pubs, restaurants and cafes will be able to operate indoors on the restricted hours of 6am to 6pm, for the service of food and non-alcoholic drinks only.

Bars, pubs, restaurants and cafes can continue to serve alcohol outdoors up to the existing curfew time of 10pm.

Hotel restaurants can operate beyond 6pm, but only for residents and with no alcohol being served.

The Scottish Government is also introducing regulations to extend the mandatory use of face coverings in indoor communal settings, including staff canteens and corridors in workplaces.

Unfortunately (living in Edinburgh) this means I’m effectively in a Lockdown & am not allowed out to play...

It could be worse. At least Moffat isn’t in one of the 5 Regions listed.

 Just heard - Travel restrictions not being enforced... :!: :?:

Indeed they are not Alistair. I have spoken just now with the Hotel manager (Dave) He informs that the only difference is, that, guests will will not be served with alcohol indoors. The restaurant, as per previous post, tables per guidelines, social distancing, wash hands, face masks moving about from the dining table. The restaurant closes at 10pm.

So in effect , group dinner still on, ride out still on, socialising still on albeit with no served alcohol.

I would remind you all that the hotel operates a free cancellation policy and to check your booking terms and conditions. The Hotel one , I believe, is five days advance notification.

Amanda and I will still be there to welcome anyone and i will be posting up the bar menu tomorrow evening for your considerations.

Stay positive, keep on keepin on cos its a long winter.

Peter, nothing has changed, its on till its off. T and c`s apply. We are not outlaws and will be most welcome in Moffat and where else we visit.

Andy.. till next year.. stay fit.

It`s gonna be a long winter trixters.

Under new restrictions claudios will not be open for anything more than takeaway. Pizza and pasta with odd specials.

Pubs and restaurants closeting at 6pm and no booze. This is going to feel like the Middle East!

Hope to see everyone sometime in the near future.

As I understand it the restaurant at the Hotel is open until 10-00pm and booze can be served outside until that time also.

Due to the restrictions now in place I really can't attend next weekend, which is a shame (for me anyway).

There will be a double room available if anyone needs it. I was unable to cancel by phone this evening as they asked me to call back in the morning to speak with their receptionist. However I have emailed them in order to give the 5 days notice required for free cancellation.

If anyone wants the room please say so now and I will ask them to hold it for you when I speak with them.

I hope you all have a great time, and hopefully will catch up with you when things have settled down.

Cheers

Alan

Still planning on going to Moffat this weekend but Sue won't be coming along.

Apologies Chris, but I’m afraid I’m going to have to bale on this trip. Normally I would break the journeys to and from Moffat by staying overnight either at my sister’s house in Tynemouth and/or with my mother-in-law in Blackburn, but both of these areas are in lockdown so I can’t visit them this time. That leaves a 7 hour, 355 mile 99% motorway run in each direction on both Friday and Sunday to get there and back for the Saturday ride out. As much as I’d love to see you all, that’s two days of miserable riding for one day and two evenings of fun. All the signs are that the lockdown situation is not going to get better before the weekend, so I’m reluctantly throwing in the towel on this trip.

I’ve cancelled my room at the Bucchie, so along with Archie’s room, there should be two free now. I hope all of you who do make it to Moffat have a fabulous time, and with any luck I’ll see you again in 2021 when this virus madness has calmed down a bit.

All the best,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Shame you can't make this Paul but fully understand. It'll have to be 2021 before you get a go on the XR. Begining to look like I'll be Billy no Mates this weekend!!

Peter.

Having bought new kit and a rear carrier & topbox I'm going away no matter what!!

Chris has scoped out two runs, one full day, and a shorter one (in case of inclement weather or lack of tread on his tyres........ :? )

Short run can be downloaded here: https://www.dropbox.com/s/5lb13zwtk273l ... n.gpx?dl=0

and looks like this. (long run to follow)

For those still planning to join, something is favourable for the weekend in the shape of the weather forecast. Amanda and I are holidaying in the area and the roads are still here and looking good.

Peter you certainly will not be Billy no mates.
