Hi i'm Chris,
new to Beemer bikes, just chopped a Ducati Diavel in for a R1100S Mamola replica.
So the first step to Boxer ownership, and i have to say the ride back form the dealer was very enjoyable (apart from getting used to the indicators)

1993 ZZR1100 D1 (seriously Fettled)
2006 ZZR1400 (mildly Fettled)
1985 GPZ900r (totally restored and standard)
1984 VF1000 (next project)

Welcome on board Chris. The indicators become second nature after a wee while, and you soon start thinking that the rest of the world has got it wrong with the silly toggle on the left hand bar.

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Welcome along - John, I'm with Paul on this one - the indicators are in the proper place - much prefer them to "that silly toggle on the left hand side"

yep the indicators do make sense (i suppose) don't forget iv'e been riding Italian and Jap for a lot of years
As for the battery -----Found it when fitting the supply for my twat nav
Track days are out i'm afraid (cant afford to have any more metal inside me)----mind you safer on the track than the road these days i suppose

Hi there!!
I’ve yet to ride my R11S... world/family/Corona scare.
I’ve had her running over in the garden and having never ridden a boxer before (in any guise) totally wasn’t expecting lateral throw of the engine when you blip the throttle.
Waiting for a clear day to get out on the tarmac for a few hours.

Don’t be tempted to leave the engine idling in your garden - these Boxer twins are renowned for overheating one exhaust port/header in that situation.
That is why BMW recommend start - idle for a few seconds - ride off slowly, letting engine heat up before giving it some welly.
