I'm a plumber, based near Loughborough. I was working on a job for a new customer during the summer of 2016, and saw a covered bike in the garage. I showed interest, and he took the cover off his grey R1100s. It looked very good to my eyes (never had a bee-em, and the only one I ever rode was an smoke orange R90s on a test ride from a dealer on the Isle of Man during TT fortnight in the 1980's!) The plumbing job took a bit longer than usual. He said he was thinking of selling the bike the next year, and I asked for 'first refusal' on it, when he did sell it.
Fast forward to March 2017, and a phone call offering me the bike for the price dealer offered him as a trade-in on a used 1250 GS. I couldn't say no, and so bought the R1100s.
It's also came with the panniers and tank bag; it's got a Van der Linde (I think) exhaust system, which sounds bloody lovely, and it's been 'chipped'. I'm loving it! Quite a change from my previous bike history .....

Very smart. Welcome on board.

You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

You've got good eyes Dave!
Welcome to the forum Steve,
Interesting bike history you have there, mines nothing like as extensive but my first bike was a Suzuki TS185, had a Yam XS750 and a Kawa GT550 so close.
Wish i still had the TS, they are worth a bomb now.

Hi Topcat, Re. TS185, yes, good ones do seem to asking for a bit on the auction site, but there is some tat out there! I think I got more fun per cc out of that bike than any of the others, bar the Commando. I commuted (read "thrashed it") from Leicester to Nuneaton on it, getting the most out of those 185 cc's was most enjoyable.
