Oil inspection window

Post by fontana »

Just recently I've been reading a couple of horror stories about oil sight glass windows popping out while on the move.
In one case, the R1100RS in question (which is what I have), ended up with a toasted engine.
Is this a problem you guys are aware of.

Not a problem personally, although I guess you could be unlucky. And not a common problem either afaik. Leaks are more common than blowing out. If you're nervous they're simple enough to extract & replace.

Apparently a leak is the first sign that the site glass is ready to blow out.
