The GS has gone...

Post by ianc53 »

... having been replaced by this.

Had a test ride last year and was impressed. After some encouragement from Paul :) I took the plunge and bought it last month. To me (at least) it's the spiritual successor to the 1100S and I'm ready looking forward to getting a few miles on it.

Probably means I need to sell the R1100S, more of which in another thread.

Also means I've a few bits and pieces for the GS LC for sale. I'll post for those discerning members of Boxertrix with one - although of course they are not as discerning as those with an RS :D

It's bit going full circle as I also have this.

Bought it from a friend last year, he was at the second owner and had it for for over 20 years. A bad fall - from his attic while getting the Christmas decorations - meant a badly broken arm and he decided his biking days were over. Not had chance to do much with it yet, but once I stop work - in September - I will have no excuses!

Cheers

Nice choice. I'm sure you'll be very happy with it.

Cheers,

Paul
You really need only two tools: WD-40 and duct tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the tape.

Hi Phil,
Both very nice Ian, but which one will be at the Welsh weekend?
I think it will have to be the new one for Wales. Mile munchers though they were in their time, not sure whether this particular bike, or its rider, is up for a 400 mile day just yet. Now if we have a Boxertrix weekend in Scotlandshire at some point that could be a different story :D .

I'm hoping there's something in my collection of bits and pieces that will appeal to you. There's a Wunderlich Ergo touring screen, Cymarc dashboard surround and stainless steel front engine "Crud catcher', Mudsling rear 'hugger' thing and a Touratech headlight cover - put that on when I found a replacement light unit was over £900  .

Also have a Navigator IV that will be going cheap.

I hope to get some photos done this week.

Cheers

Ian, I got a headlight protector for the same reason- I was bricking it until it arrived, thought it would be just my luck to get a stone through it. Having said that I've got headlight protectors on all my Boxers. May be interested in some of the bits tho

Thanks Dave, I'll try and get something into the "For Sale' section by the weekend.
