Seat Lowering Service

Postby Boxerlass » Wed Oct 27, 2004 4:53 pm

For all fellow short arses out there, I have just had the S seat lowered by a guy called Marty at York. His site is
http://www.smartrrrs.co.uk

He has done a good job. BMW in their wisdom apparently always stick the seat cover to the foam, so the lowering has to be done by cutting out foam from the underneath. He also thinned the 'neck' of the seat.
Plenty of foam in there, so a gel pad was not needed. The seat still feels comfortable and it looks really good.

Marty is a coach builder by trade. He did the seat whilst we wandered around York for 2 hours. The cost? An amazing £25 all in (we gave him £30).

You honestly cant tell it's been reformed at all, especially so because all the foam has come out of the underneath of the seat and the sides of the neck, again underneath.

I can now get the balls of my feet comfortably on the ground on both sides (I am 5'4" and 29" inside leg BTW). It's a great confidence building improvement and I cant recommend Marty enough.

Great! A tradesman like Marty deserves as much business as we can give him. It's a vocation with him!

Cant recall the exact address, except it is in York. If you look on the "Contact Us" page of their web site here:

http://www.smartrrrs.co.uk/

You will be able to ask him yourself where exactly he is in York!
