What should I be looking to pay?

Post by Pjm »

I am in the market for a mint post 04 BCR or an HP2. What should I be looking to pay for the BCR and in the alternative should I look to buy the HP2 privately or look to get the 24 month warranty from a high priced dealer bike. Your thoughts and advice would be much appreciated.

Mint bcr eh? Mint Hp2 s? Be prepared to pay premium prices. If you have to ask this question then you have not seriously considered/researched either model. M and S Newcastle have an indication of what they think they can get for a BCR

Jus sayin like
Fiat Panda.
Fiat Scudo (with speedblock, pipe carrier, reversing sensors, reversing camera, tow bar, some new rust and Fake Plumber logo)

That's why I came here. My research led me to this highly informative site of expert owners. I was looking for friendly guidelines of what I should be looking to pay on a fair and reasonable, real world, basis rather than a dealer trying to make. I have no problem with dealers making profit because that is how the world goes around. But thanks for your input.

Just realised you are from North of the border and that was your welcoming 'Scottish Handshake' to a new member. At least you are 'still game'

To be fair the prices have been wildly differing and as you say dealers have to make a profit but some have been right off the scale. If mine was mint I would sell it but engine paint needs a bit of work. This is where you might find the problem - the red, white and blue BCRs were only made until 2004, so what you are going to get is going to be 12 years old. My bike has never been out when salt has been down but the paint work is still a bit manky. Plenty of good people here to guide you in the right direction tho. Good luck with the search

Corrected for you FOC :D

To the OP - the price for a BCR is very much "on the day" or make a cheeky offer .......... there are so few out there.

If you are looking at long term worth - there are two trains of thought perhaps:

The original single spark Mamola model: best provenance.

The Mk 2 RWB BCR - which for many - is the better looking.

You pays your money.....etc
