The aluminium gadget just slides over the coil end, so unless you're really hamfisted, it doesn't actually contact any paint - the end of it is easy to hold between thumb and forefinger, so there's more than enough purchase to pull the coil out.

Hi Pete, sounds the one to have then thank you explaining its operation once this is removed I then see if I have a tool to remove plug.
Fitted NGK spark plugs, air filter not needed as very clean, fitted new motorworks fuel filter, o ring and filter hose clips and replaced steering damper soft bushes for rubberised ones supplied again from motorworks,
I am very impressed with the ultra fast service from motorworks phoned order in on Monday received my order next day.

Yes Pete and while the tank was off I gave the underside of the petrol tank and battery carrier a coat of hammerite paint, you would not get that done in a garage would you.
