2001 R1100S for sale

Postby RavensAteMyEyes » Wed Apr 27, 2016 12:23 pm

For sale is my 2001 BMW R1100S Sport with 42k on the clock. I am the second owner from new.

Image

I purchased it in 2014 and used it regularly since then, adding about 12k miles.

It has the Touring Panniers, rear seat cover and heated grips. Non-ABS. Also has the standard screen plus a taller dark touring one, plus a set of rearsets for the Boxer Cup series bike if you want them for free.

Original cans plus an aftermarket pair.

It has been in my garage, unloved and unused, since November when I bought an R1200ST.

It isn't mint condition, you'll see in the photos it's got a bit of cosmetic rust, plus the seat got ripped by some arseholes when it was parked overnight. Also the right-hand bar end weight fell off near Calais!

The battery is going a bit flat so I'll try to get it charged this weekend, but since it's out of MOT ideally someone would collect with a van or trailer.

I'm looking for offers in the region of £1500+.

Collection from my house in High Wycombe. Comes with some service history, looked after at BMW Bahnstormer Maidenhead and BMW Vines of Guildford.

You can see the full photo album here: http://imgur.com/a/uWPCi

Thanks for looking :)

Hey mate,

Yeah it is. Couldn't get it started at the weekend, so she's booked into a local dealer to get a service, MOT and fresh battery.

I'll pop it back up for sale once it's ready - think it's better that way.

Ok I'll keep an eye out, had a mate look at my R1200S but seat is too tall, he's now looking at an 1100 instead. I'll point him in your direction!

Would recommend Bahnstormer Maidenhead if you want work done, they're close to you and bunch of good blokes.

Yeah I've been there before, good lads. It's going there shortly to be given a bit of fettling. Hopefully she'll be ready this week and a new owner can get a stunning deal. Let me know if your mate fancies a look - and good luck selling the R1200S!

Khal, I bought Skiddy Boxers bike Monday - his bike will not start on the side stand - I cant remember if they are all like this? It will crank but not run the fuel pump.

Mine can, always has been able to start it with the stand down.
But if the stand is not pulled up before putting into gear the engine cuts out. 2001 model year.

It can start on the stand in neutral for sure.

Sounds like a dodgy sidestand switch if it won't even do that?

I had the bike I sold to Steve (Britisherspy) since it was two years old and it has never started on the side stand. As far as I'm aware all the 2002 models were the same. Can't speak for any others.

My R1100S will start quite happily on the side stand. If I put it in gear with the side stand down it stops.

My 1995 R1100RS will not start or run with the side stand down.

It took me a while to fathom that halfway home from collecting the RS, I stopped for a cuppa, and the bike wouldn't restart. Of course, I'd collected it on the centre stand, and parked up on the side stand.
