Wanting to purchase a new system. Mainly for GPS and so Amanda can keep me right (and awake);

Liking the thought of wireless but have heard mixed reviews. My autocom has served me well but we always manage to" fry" or leave a lead on the ferry :)

The wireless unit I am looking at is the Senna SMH10 D-10.

Not in the slightest bit interested in making/taking/ phone calls,texting, surfing the net or talking with other bikes whilst riding.

Any helpful suggestions appreciated.

I would be happy to go with Autocom again if it is the safest bet.

Until you actually do a holiday with other bikes, and have comms between them - you don't know what you are missing.

If you are determined to not talk to other bikes - then the cheaper of the Scala units (wireless) would do you.

I've used the Scala G4 for a few years now - and rate it (compatible with cheaper Scala units).

BUT - the Sena MH10 apparently will pair up with several of the other makers - so would be my choice next time.

I wouldn't entertain a wired system - the world has moved on.....

I have the sena 20s Bluetooth kit and is superb,had the wired autocom for years and always thought that was pretty good but as soon as I started using the sena it certainly put the autocom in the shade

As Al said, I wouldn't entertain a wired setup, so old school, I have the Interphone F4 system which I reckon is probably ideal for your req's, you can buy a twin pack for very reasonable money, and the clarity is excellent up to and including illegal speeds.

The Sena units are a step above again being bluetooth 4, but have capabilities that are way more than you will ever use given your stated req's
As long as you avoid the cheapo chinese units and stick to the likes of Interphone (Cellularline) Scala or Sena then you can't go wrong

We have the SMH10. Decent bit of kit and easy to operate on the move, only 2 buttons. Friend has a Scala and he rates it highly. What is a very handy feature of BT headsets is the range they now have. Sena claims 900m.

We stop at a petrol station. Missus gets off and go inside while I refuel the bike. She asks what I want to have and I let her know what the bill for the fuel is. She pays, comes back, I get my snack and off we go.

I go riding with a friend, we pair the BT headsets. I'm leading, I tell him where I'm going, what to look out for, toilet breaks and refuel stops and general chit chat. Fantastic and no PTT, all VOX.
