Got the wind up!
Last week when I was tucked up in bed nice and snug the bloody wind blew my bike over. The only damage was to the rear fairing as you will see. I've no idea how to sort this out. As you see it's just a small 'ding' but is annoying.

Re: Got the wind up!
Motorworks for a new panel, or maybe get a good paint shop to fill it, the paint code is under the seat. Any good paint guy will be able to source the paint, and I'm sure if you check motorworks site they list the paints there. Here you go panel isn't cheap though, but it's worth calling them as they may even have a silver one in stock

Without sounding to negative, pull the panel off and check the rear light casing isn't broken, my 12 had a similar incident and the force of the rear cover hitting the ground snapped the mounting point, but that's fixable with a bit of epoxy resin as it can't be seen.
hope that helps

I've not been riding the bike very much lately, less than a thousand miles last year. So I've made the decision to sell the bike. I'm going to tax it this month. I'll put some details and photos up later. I know I'll regret selling it as I've had bikes since the 70's but I've made my mind up.
Cheers.
Phil.

That's a shame that you appear to be giving up motorcycling. I guess you shall be taxing it in order for people to test ride it. Don't forget that the new road tax laws dictate that one can't sell a vehicle with tax any more and the new owner has to arrange their own before riding away.

Check rainbow motorcycles - slparry put a link to it somewhere recently - I think the stickers are available for the 1200 but they're not cheap. If you can't find it go to "shop" on their site and then genuine BMW parts

I can very much relate to this, Phil as am considering selling-up too. Months go by and the bike never makes it past the end of our drive - the only time it moves is to get stuff out of the garage.
Thing is, when I'm not riding it I don't miss it one bit - and when out on it I reach a point (after not long) that I just can't be bothered. Would much rather be out and about on long walks with my cameras. As things stand, the trip down to Flash in June will be the last time I do a trip.
Hi Gromit.
Yes I can't be bothered at times. The last few times I've taken the bike out is to give the battery a good charge. When it does go up for sale I'll put everything with it. Stand, Torx set, tank bag, tail pack etc. I'll need to give it a good wash and polish first. I've had two weeks off school and I've been ill all of it, gods teeth it makes you spit. Years ago when I first started riding bikes I use to go rallying at least once a month all year round. I suppose the fatigue catches up with in later years.

What happens to Boxertrix if you jack in the biking?

I don't seem to have the time for riding these days but I suppose I do get a bit of a fix using the bike for work and this way I can genuinely say I enjoy going to work. I used the 12 for the first time last week and was blown away by it - I really do enjoy riding it. Off to Germany later in the year and really looking forward to it.
After riding the 12 I think I've falling out of love with the get to work VFR so that might go but it will be replaced with another flat twin
Richard, if you ever have cause to remove the right side fairing on the VFR can you post a pic of the engine casings for me? just something I need to check out
