BCR Tyres

Post by Taz »

I have an '04 plate RWB BCR with Michelin Pilot Sport tyres. As these are no longer made, what do other BCR riders use - is it the Pilot Power 3? It has a new Pilot Sport on the front (don't know where the previous owner got it from).

Thanks, as always for the advice.

Gotta be:

Sport/touring
Michelin Pilot Road 3 or 4
Dunlop Roadsmart 2

(Michelin would be my choice)

Sport:
Dunlop Sportsmart 2

(Dunlops are all I fit as sports tyres  )

Had Road Smart (1) on the R12, very good but rear gone in 4.5K

Got PR 3 on the K13 and so far 5.5k and a lot of that was motorway / duel carriageway. Looks like it hasn't been used, not squared off and very good grip.

It was Popsky who put me onto them, I was always a Road Smart fan but the Michelin's are really very good.

Have got PR2's on the 600 Bandit and they seem to last forever with no grip problems so maybe a cheaper option, if you can still get them.

+1 for Pilot Road 3.

I even read somewhere recently that the PR4 that has just been launched is better but not by much and so discounted PR3s are the best value

Dam, just had PR4's fitted to the R12

Still, the amount I use that bike they should last me the next 10 years.

I've been using these for a while on my BCR and have been more than happy with them :)

A pair of PR3s now on order from Tyre Tec (as recommended by a member here). The front has a nearly new Pilot Sport on it but I've chosen to replace both so that they match and are new together. Feedback to follow ...

Thanks again for the comments.

Used quite a few tyres on the Boxercup.
Favourite one was Metzler M5 (or 3? I get confused) used on/off track as well.

For road only use, with the roads we have in the UK, Dunlop Roadsmarts are an excellent choice.
