As some of the more mature members of Boxertrix will know, I have not always been a GS 'cuckoo' on this site.

I always regretted selling my R1100S

So when Hopper of this site put his very well cared for S up for sale… and it was in my favourite colour scheme … and he lived on my route to the Hull ferry … it all seemed to drop into place.

So I took the train down to York on Saturday and brought it back to our new (temporary) home back in Fife.

As others have commented, the bike is in lovely condition and doesn't really need anything doing.

So other than looking out for some Wilbers or similar, and a GS torque arm, and maybe a belly pan, and polishing the headers a bit, I'm set.

Having two bikes is a nightmare, make sure they are side by side in the garage or the one at the back will sulk every time you take the one at the front out to play and it means you have an extra decision to make every day, more stress

Hi Andrew, after all the decisions to make on the GS; engine mode, traction control, electronic suspension, and the dash telling me everything except my inside leg measurement

it's good to get on a bike with no adjustments and analogue instruments. Much less to think about, just ride it.

Went up past Gleneagles yesterday (on the GS with Sue) and the preparations for the Ryder Cup are in full swing, still a great bit of road, whatever bike you're on.

Al, know what you mean! The decision is relatively easy at the moment; one up it's the S, two up it's the GS. I get the Suzuki back at the end of October (it's in storage till we move again) - but need to get that running again before it becomes an option.

It is a very nice stretch of road indeed - A823 I think? It was about 2 miles south of where it crosses the A9 where my first TT600 spat a rod.

You're right Richard, it's a really nice road.
One of the things I'm most looking forward to being back up here is renewing my acquaintance with some of the local roads. As Andrew says, Glen Devon, Gleneagles, Loch Earn, Glen Ogle, Loch Tay, Aberfeldy were all part of the regular route.
