My new R1200S
Hi there,
I've just sold my BMW r1200gs for this 12s.
I ride because I love to, there is no reason for me to own a bike other than just because. The GS was awesome but with every sensor and gauge it had I started to loose some of that 'biker' feeling. I also, rightly or wrongly, felt just a little too old before my time when out and on it.
So after spotting a Colgate 12s on the IOM during the TT I began the search and this is what I came up with ...
A couple of hundred miles and a couple of essential stickers later
I've added the screen, risers and tank pads.
I hope you like it, I do!

That's nice. My first one was silver. I keep changing my mind about which is the best colour scheme! But the silver has that timeless classy look.

In a fifty mile race I am the best, I ride five miles and skid the rest.

I'm happy with it (apart from putting it on the stand the wrong way round for the pics, oops!) although does anyone else's sound like the horn was pinched from a 50cc scooter?
A few stone chips, a rather large one on the front mud guard but other than that nice and clean for its age I reckon.
Grip Fast - I was lucky enough to find one with the factory fitted panniers which I wanted, they are very tasteful I think and don't look out of place. Depending on how I get on with the bike, I might look into suspension upgrades, I'm not what you would call little so it might well be required!
Popsky - lovely colour scheme, is it unique? I think I recall it from previous posts as I trawled the forum for pics and as much info as possible on the bike.

Yes its unique ish!
I bought it from Gus from this place, he's racing his 12s in the German Boxercup series and has sold lots to help fund the project.
I say ish cause its a take on the Dutch race team/dealer Van Harten's colour scheme when they raced there 12s.
The Ohlins are only available from BMW I believe making them very expensive, but theres lots of alternatives
