the fuel pump mod is starting for the R12/K12/K13 series but as far as I'm aware the R11S aren't included in it, keep us in the loop when you find out what the issue is!

Take a look here:
http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/

Search for 'BMW Motorcycles' and 'R Series' - lists all recalls.
Good luck.

I appear to have got more detail in the recall letter, received today........

"Dear owner, The Dilithium Crystals on your BMW R1100s BoxerCup Replika (the fastest model) - May be reducing in capacity, earlier than the 30 year lifespan - built in to them.

Please return the bike to your dealer for recharging of the cyrstals - at your earliest convenience.

May the force be with you.

BMW Customer Care."

It's be a good idea if you all got it done before the Wales Weekend. :D

Al
If I am ever on life support - Unplug me......
Then plug me back in..........

Gotta love BMW

Basically their checking all there records for any and all outstanding campaigns, from braklines on 1150gs's to the throttle stub screws on 1100's , leaking fuel clips , possible sharp eges on boxercup belly pans. the hole nine yards
its not a "your about to die recall" just a "quality refinement" as they call it
call your local dealer with a reg number or better still the last 7 digits of your vin and they will tell you whats outstanding and with any luck get you booked in to get it all done ... maybe !
well if you fancy that ...

this all at the time of the fuel pump flange campaigns on every flipping thing else .
R1100s project
R1150gs daily tool
RVF400 track tool and general sexy bike
CB900 dohc , very on going project!

Didn't used to mind recalls / service actions when I was a tech for VW - the times were generally achievable (once you'd done a few) so you could make bonus. One I moved into warranty / service management I loved it when a recall came out - it was like free money. You would always wish for them during those quiet months. Unfortunately April isn't one of those!
