R12S bellypan painted and fitted, some pics.

Postby eyore » Wed Jan 22, 2014 9:03 pm

Hummed and hawed over the whole belly pan question for months now, what make, what price , does it suit the bike etc etc.
Anyway bought this Saering one on e bay £165 delivered ,quality of fiberglass not great, a fair bit of work required by local painter who did a great job and ended up with a flawless finish.
Collected it today and fitted this evening,my initial feeling is relief, I think it looks ok.

I'll be your first customer

I'm not too keen on the 1200S with a bellypan but I quite like that one, I think the paint scheme helps it a lot :)

8) 8) 8) Oooh. Me liky your bike very much. Nice price for the belly-pan too.

I myself have been known to lose all sense of proportion when it comes to buying bike stuff, but this.......

would be a bridge too far, even for me.

It's all VFR (DCT) round here now. STILL missing my 1100s tho.

£900.................  Me too. I would draw the line an awful long way before that.

Next question is to sticker it or not to sticker it. No point in copying a Boxercup , but the idea/style and using a few to represent the bits that are actually on the bike such as Bridgestone, Remus, Motul?
Thoughts please.

I'm sure there is a huge leap in costs - but for me, this is the best design and shape for that bike

Looks just right as it is. Why 'over-egg the pudding' by turning it into a mobile Bill-board?

OEM carbon fibre one, and a scarily horrendous price so the £900 is a bargain ;)

I agree with that look Al, its perfect, but it needs the headers and that's more expense. I will take a similar pic outside from the identical angle and compare.

Whats the point of carbon fibre to save grams on what is a lardy bike Steve (sorry) ,especially as being painted nobody even knows it CF never mind a race special part. Save the money feelbetter and go on a diet, it will make the bike faster

And thanks Nick, you are right.Dont get carried away.

I do covet your bike, eyore. Even more now, with the belly pan.

The onions look good too...
