Yet another older newbie joins the fold.

Post by Manfred »

Afternoon all.

I'm Manfred and I'm from York - right in the middle of gods country (or it would be if he actually existed) :)

I've just taken on a 2001 R1150RS with 67k on the clock.
This is the end of a sequence of trades that started with me deciding that I didn't have the time or money to get the 'spare' Vmax on the road.
So that got swapped for a Katana 600 hardtail chop that was too small.
Next was a Ducati Supersport 1000DS, horrible riding position.
Then along came this.

Never really wanted a BM, seemed to be too expensive to maintain and if you look at the 'official' club, ridden by snobs :(
But here we are.

Now to start learning all over again.

Just for the record, excluding the sequence of trades above, my previous bike for the last 14 years was a Yam FJ1100.

Before that:
Kawi GT750.
Suzuki GS750
Suzuki GSX250
Suzuki GT125

With a few trikes and peds scattered in between.
Over the hill and picking up speed on the long downhill to death.

Ooh I hope so.
Hopefully this one is populated by normal people :)

I lasted almost 12 hours before being ejected and banned from the 'official' forum.

Really don't know what I did wrong.

You join a forum for a paid club surely your first 2 questions are how much? and what do I get?

So they have a thread about 'thinking of joining' so I read it.
Basically it is a page long sermon about how good the club is with no info.

I just suggested that they may want to ask to writer to put some informaion in.

I then got a mail from admin basically saying that he had died recently and that they consider him to be god, and that I'd been booted.

Well it was either that or suggesting to those members with the attitude that if they ignore facebook it will go away, that that attitude doesn't work for ostriches either.

Hope he doesn't attend any rallies that I go to.
He'd spend all weekend tripping over his bottom lip :)

Mr. Spock is my role model so be advised; I possess no (discernible) sense of humour.

It's all VFR (DCT) round here now. STILL missing my 1100s tho.
