I`ve just finished painting a rather tatty looking front panel and was wondering whether to lacquer/clear coat or not.
the finished coat looks not bad, has been cut back and polished and the finish is reasonable, I realise a clearcoat top coat would add protection etc but the bone idle in me says it looks good as it is.
What do you guys think?....the reason i ask is after painting panels in the past the lacquer coat ruined the overall finish, probably because it was sprayed on in a cold damp garage, but it left a slight `milky` effect..
cheers
Steve

As long as it's a quality top coat you have used it should be fine i have been looking at the plasticoat range and they look quite good i think their radiator enamal would be my choice for the job you have just done
However if you have used a black base coat that's ment to be protected with a lacquer you will have to lacquer it
