Bugger! Sounds a nightmare. I have done a wet track day at Silverstone as well. Not fun. There's no shelter there and it's on top of a hill! It get the worst of whatever weather is going and you got some bad weather! :( When you have to wear your waterproofs over your leathers its just not fun. They...

So you're in Kent - There's a few people on here from there. As for riding through winter. The BMW is an ideal all year round bike, although don't belive the BMW hype about build quality. They are no better, or worse, than most other bikes out there. They have a few weak spots that are discussed at ...

Sounds like a good price. 4k for 3.5k miles and only a 51. Sounds a bargin. Are you sure that's not 35k miles? 3500 miles is not even run in for a boxer engine. Flippin heck, where exactly has it been for the last few years? Who did you buy it off? That sort of milage is very un-BMW like. I hope tha...

I think that "Ride" will be conducting a test on protection officers. Which is the best type, what sort of protection they offer etc etc. ONly the best will get the coverted green triangle. Coming to a store near you soon. PS they might not help prevent an accident but they will shoot the van driver...

From reading this it sounds as if they've done away with the good practcal bits of the 1100 but the new fun bits of the 1200 have not made up for it. I always found that the S when breaking and down shifting. You are right, you needed oudles of revs when blipping the throttle. In fact "blip" isn't t...

Is the stop fixed to the cat? I've got a spare cat assembly in the garage. I'll check when I get back at the weekend. Failing that then you need the centre stand stop from Wunderlich. It expensive for what it is but it works okay. Do a search on "centre stand stop". There's been a few threads on it.
Ditto... Use mineral for 10k. Castrol GP 10w-40 is the BMW recommended. Anything more exotic is a waste. For gods sake keep an eye on the level. If you've not had a boxer before then you will find she has a bit of a drink problem. No problem as long as you keep her topped up. Don't take it back to t...
