Plivez, thanks for that. The way I have routed the pipe certainly gives some extra length, I will just need to check when I refit the side panels that it cannot chafe the pipe.

Bars above top yoke
Having read many of the previous threads I decided to lift the bars while servicing the bike ('98 non abs). I found, as often reported, that the brake hose was a little tight (bike on paddock stand). I pushed the fork tube back through the yoke and took the brake pipe over the top of the fork tube ...

There are companies that repair chipped windscreens free of charge. They are paid by the insurance companies as it is cheaper than a replacement. Might be worth a try as the headlight unit probably costs more than a car windscreen. They come to you and fill the chip with a clear compound. Find them ...

GS Goodies
Noticed that several of you also run a GS. I've just been told of a local company (Sth. Yorks.) that manufacture stainless steel accessories. Have a look at www.moto-ap.co.uk. Geoff.

Re: Torque to me.
After a lifetime spannering cars with a socket set, I am now confronted with a workshop manual quoting torque settings for cap screws. Can I get a set of hex. key sockets, or is there a torque wrench adaptor? Any tips would be gratefully received.
Cheers.
Geoff.

Fitting Remus Y piece
Hi Guys. Got a similar problem to Taz. Just purchased a Remus Y piece and the alignment is not good. Without the rubber bushes in place, if I loosely attach the left side there is a about a 4mm gap between the right flanges plus a misalignment of centres of about 5mm. Reluctant to just pull it all ...
