Has anyone used the EBC or Talon eng pattern discs??? If so what is the wear like..
I have OEM's and they are warped or buggered after about 40K, so want to try pattern ones...

I replaced my warped disks with some PFM ones from Motorworks. They were a lot cheaper than OEs but.... they're cast iron not SS. Good in the wet, but look shite parked up cos they rust within 1 nanosecond of stopping.

They seem to be wearing pretty well, but I've had to put more abrasive pads in cos they initially didn't wear very evenly with normal pads.

Skint,

I have wave discs from Talon (made by Italian firm, Braking). Can recommend them.

I seem to be going through discs at about one set every 30 - 40 K.. They always come out warped. Didn't think that i was braking that severly... So how the talon ones hold up???

Ta, good advice, but i change them every year... so i don't think that it's that that is causing it... But i hear that OEM is not always the best...

Part no. BW04FID this is for the early model Brembo calipers 305mm discs. They do them for the later models too, this I know because they sent me pair by accident, which I had to send back.

I had a result on the pricing as the lady at Talon accidentally quoted me £58 per disc instead of the correct price which I think is about £78 per disc +vat so they let me have them for the quoted price :D

i've only done about 2k on them so far, but they are a definate improvement in feel and bite. They also make a thrrrrrrrrrrriiiiippp sort of noise, which is strangely satisfying. www.braking.com

Paul.

ps. Sue at Talon 01935 471508 helpful, top service, discs arrived next day.

Having just checked with Talon, it's actually the new size discs 2000 on- which are £70+ Still........they are good value when you price up BMW ones. :)

you need to clean the pistons every time you change the pads.

Did the bolts loosen when no loctite applied or is the blue stuff ok.. Just don't like the super high strength stuff.
