Hello people!Had the bike 4 years-its an 1100s.1999 model. Had the usual troubles, but this one I cant sort...Turn ignition on,consol lights up but the fuel pump dosen't power up.Bike in neutral and switch seems to be working side stand switch also seems to be working.cut-out switch in correct position and also seems to be working, iginition switch also working with no broken wires between it and the connector block. got recovered by the AA who seem to think it was the fuel pump-I removed pump and put it on a battery and it runs! Two relays in the left hand box have started chattering.Battery measures 12.1 volts and engine turns over fine. been pulling apart as many connector blocks as I can find and cleaning up connections--still no joy help!!!!!!Many thanks, stuart [/b]

Did you check the fuse? Not sure what one it is but do a search as it is somewhere in the Forum.

you don't mention if the engine turns over but the bike doesn't start, or doesn't the engine doesn't turn over

12.1 is a bit low for a fully charged batt, what does it read whilst turning over
voltage may be too low once cranking, fully charged is about 12.8v

I found a corrosion problem with some of the wiring in the bottom of the LH relay box on my 1998 bike - the drain hole at the bottom of the box is in the wrong position when the bike is on the sidestand. You have to dismantle the relay box to find it, but it might be worth a peek if all else fails (the fuel pump relay is close by).
