i'm in a little trouble. i bought a tank cover off ebay back in february and very foolishly never tried it on the bike untill this weekend and it is not the correct one. christ knows what it is for, i have yet to shout at the seller but i doubt very much that i shall get a refund as it was back in feb.
anyway, i am in begging mode for the borrow of a tank cover from someone on the understatnding that if i damage it in any way i shall replace it. i would just go out and buy a new one now but having tried every supplier including the uk importer there are none in the uk and it is a two to three week wait. this is no good to me as i am supposed to leave for france on monday.
can anyone help?
cheers
steve

Long may it continue.

i will tell you all a funny little story involving oxford panniers i had on my TLR, on the way out of dover i had my helmet strapped to the offside pannier where it had been all crossing untill we reached the exit, as a group of us rode up the motorway at 100mph on of my mates came along side to tell me i was on fire, on trying to look past my blown up sleeve on my rain suit i could see nothing untill i turned around, there to my supprise was bloody great flames from the back, i have never stopped a bike so quick, apparently the weight of my helmet had pushed the pannier down onto the micron carbon can, caught fire, burnt a hole in the can, bubbled the paint on the tail unit, and destroyed all my clothes in that side, it was 10 oclock at night dark and we were taking photos of all my burnt clothes on the hard shoulder pissing ourselves laughing.
oh the joys of motorcycling.

we're not certain yet nick. we tend to wing these things a bit and at the moment it looks like we might nip accross france, into germany and then down through switzerland for the grimmsell, furka, davos and then italy for stelvio. i'll be leaving my friend in como where his girlfriend lives and i'll nip over the alps through grenoble/annecy and straight back home... maybe.skiddy boxers wrote:Steve
