Valve Adjustment Query

Is it necessary to torque the heads as part of the valve adj. process? My Clymer manual mentions to do this at 600 miles only, then no mention of it thereafter.

Only one head bolt needs re-tightening if you need to adjust the end float. so no.. have a look here:
