Hi guys,
This is probably a silly question, but I've just drained the oil from my 04 BCR and I used the allen headed bolt in the very bottom of the sump. Is this the correct plug?
The reason I ask is that the oillevel viewing window is still all white and fluffy and looks like there is still oil in the engine and I'm wondering if I've drained the gearbox or something daft?
thanks in advance!
Jason
probably a silly question? Oil Drain Plug location??

Allen headed plug about 2 inches from the filter is the engine oil drain.
The gearbox one is further back, 14mm and above the cat or Y piece.

You'd know if you drained the gearbox as you would currently be swearing at BMW for making the drain plug virtually impossible to get to!
And thinking 'why is there only 0.75 litres of oil in my engine!' - I knew they burnt oil but that is just daft!
Sounds like you might have a bit of emulsification from water in the oil. Had it on my K and other bikes. Just change the oil and give it a good long run. Hopefully it will clear.

hi guys, just wanted to let you know that I changed the oil (it was the engine and not the gearbox, so that went well!
also had to change the little sight glass thing as it was well manky and that was a bloody mare to get out, but again, got there in the end!
all seems fine now and i'm enjoying the boxer loads!!
cheers
