petrol overflow pipes
Should the two petrol overflow pipes run all the way down to the swing arm. I have two that end under the fairing near to the battery. I have found one other piece of pipe which starts near the battery and runs down to the swing arm. the pipes spill out the excess fuel which runs down the frame mixing with the cloth electical tape and leaves a lot of mess. I think it has also got into the rubber cover between the gearbox and swing arm. Any advice please...................
One pipe is the battery breather, this should exit as low as possible, corrosive fumes. Gel batteries dont have this pipe.
The petrol breather pipes are one for the overflow from the dish around the filler neck and two is the breather from inside the tank. They are attached to the pump plate on the inner right pump plate of the tank; run between air-box and frame and down to behind the rear brake assembly. They have either been chopped off, or are snagged under the tank if they terminate high up the frame.
