Seat hight

Post by ned1 »

Hi all,
I am looking at getting a R1100S, but I am concerned about the seat being to high for me and as I don't know anyone how has one and cannot seem to find a dealer with one to try,
what I would like to know is what can be done to lower it and by how much can I get it down.
Thanks for any help.
Ned

I am sure I answered this one yesterday. As far as can recall seat height is 31.5 inches. And narrow at the front so appears lower.
There would appear to be a surfeit of prolixity and sesquipedalian content today please do not use a big word when a singularly un-loquacious and diminutive linguistic expression will satisfactorily accomplish the contemporary necessity

Ned, dont buy an 04 boxer cup rep, it will be like climbing on a camel if your after a low seat.

Thanks for the warning, so I have to look for a pre 04 bike, for the lower seat.

Hi Ned
Several people on this site have had a standard seat re covered and made slightly lower. Being vertically challenged myself its an option i have considered, but TBH i dont have that much of a problem. Im 5'5"

Hi,
if I found a R1100S that was spot on, which happened to be a boxer cup model, could I get the seat hight down to a pre 04 R1100S by replaceing the rear shock with a standerd one for a R1100S.
Thanks
Ned

Hi Ned,
No problemo, I'll swap my standard BLUE shocker for the YELLOW one on the Boxer Cup which has caught your eye :D
