I'm not using a RAM mount but I have this one:

Actually a dual mount w/ GPS (TT Rider) amd secondary platform usually for a V-1

I'll try and post a pic later today

Anyone have any ideas? I guess this is an 'old chestnut' but I have just got the BCR after a 20 year layoff from bikes!

I, and a few others, Have used an extended top yoke pinch bolt to mount a RAM mirror base mount, RAM-B-252 or RAM-B-272, either will do, on the front edge of the top yoke.
Using this system and a short arm a Quest fitted very well and you could still see the clocks etc.

No photo to show you though.

I have my Garmin Quest mounted like Stuart - using the RAM mount clutch resevoir ball mounting thingy - with the antennae up there is just enough clearance on full right lock without it touching the screen (had to adjust a few times to get it in the right place).

I've just mounted it to the mirror stem (close to the ball socket) using a standard ram u bolt affair that I'd previously had on my GS. Don't have any pictures but I'm sure Lars has done the same thing and there are certainly some pictures on this site of his bike somewhere. Realise this isn't a lot of use if you've got the BCR version with the mirrors mounted to the handlebars...

I've got some picture of my Ram mount for a Garmin Quest and for mounting my camcorder. This method has the advantage of being easily removed without any tools needed.

The mounting is RAM code ramb121b and clamps to the ignition barrel. I have used it a number of times on long trips and is very secure although I was doubtful initially

Image

Picture of the Quest and cradle in place using a 3" arm. Well clear of the screen.

Image

And in case anyone is interested here's the camcorder using the same mount with a 5" arm and camera mount.

Image

If anyone is contemplating using the RAM camera mount then be aware that the camera can vibrate loose and unscrew itself giving you footage not unlike being on a waltzer

You need to adapt the mounting plate to make sure the camera stays secure. Here's how I did it, a small bracket bolted to the base.

Hope this helps

I fitted a ram mount to the screw thread on the top of the left fork leg, the black plastic cap unscrews to reveal the thread.
My Garmin Zumu fitted straight to the ram mount without any extra dumbells, leaving a clear view of the clocks nor fouling the tank bag when turning on my 2004BCR.
Im well appy with it, cant work out how to post pics on this site  but can e mail to any interested parties
