reason.cheapest option that i liked
verdict.
dry grip is excellent, lean it over till the heads touch. roll rate left to right is also good, but i've had better.
rear tyre gets 'lively' when hot, feels like the damping is off, dropping pressure to 40 cold has improved things.
wet grip..........hmmmm. front is planted, not had any issues, but the rear doesn't work until there is some heat in it, must look good from behind tho'. bit like riding a big 4T dirt bike in mud, short shift everywhere.
wear rate.
so far, 1800 miles (2 weeks) and no discernable squaring off or orange peeling of the tyre.

far better tyre than the conti's in the wet, total confidence. dry, about the same but roll rate was marginally better.
wear rate........front demolished after 2600m rear had 2.7mm left after 3400m. tyres did suffer from cold shear (cellulite) quite badly.
more expensive than conti's, but better all round tyre.

Like you I went for the Conti's as they were about the cheapest but also had some pretty good reports. I loved the handling of the tyre in the dry compared to the previous fitment(Mez 4's) and wet grip seemed Ok to me, the downside? Both Front and back shagged after 3k, the front especially as the tread had started to break up.

Im now on the CT2's since January and can report very favourable results.
Awesome grip wet or dry and mileage, well, off today to have back replaced at just over 5k, and its not totally shagged, plus front still looks good for another couple of thou Happy Days

As a footnote to the Mez4 tyre, I must say that if you were someone that didnt push the bike I could easily recommend them, cheap as chips, decent wear rate, good in the wet, downside? Wooden feeling, slow steering. I would happily have them as winter tyres

Mmm, I'm finding the opposite. I love the Conti Road Attacks. The bike came with Pilot Powers, which were quite nice, but didn't last as long as the Contis.

All my tyres wear on the edges, but are generally like new in the middle. I've never had anything but great grip from the Contis - wet or dry. I've managed to spin the rear up a couple of times on hard corners, but that's mostly just having a "heavy handed" moment .

Been using the Conti Road Attacks for the last 20K. Timbox 2 - you must have been really roasting things to wear out the front and back at 3K. I can get about 8K out of a back. There is probably better wet tyres but they are on a par with everything else in the dry. Bought a front & back off round and black for £130 several days ago too.
