On bike video

Post by skiddy boxers »

I'm going on my annual continental jaunt in 4 weeks time with some mates and fancy taking video of us riding.

I have a mini camcorder and thought I'd get a bullet cam but checked it out and found my camcorder doesn't support AV input. Next thought was to look at bike mounts for the camcorder but these all seem to clamp to handle bars (Ram type) or bolt to the fuel cap ring.

The 'S' doesn't have anywhere to mount the bar clamp type and although I could fit one that bolts to the fuel filler ring I wouldn't then be able to use my tank bag (not an option). :(

I would like the camcorder to be in the centre behind the screen where it is better protected. Has anyone here sucessfully mounted a mini camcorder to the 'S' that would overcome the tank bag problem.

Cheers

Only down side is If like me you have the low bars, it means youre bars move down fractionally more, no more than 5mm though, I havent noticed much difference.

I have loads of vids made by using a small home made mount onto the GPS mounting bar. Problem is that I don't have any pics of the camera mounting.

Thanks guys

I've been experimenting with a RAM mount and think I've solved the problem. Ordered some new bits from RAM so that I can interchange my sat nav mount for the camcorder.

Will post some pics when the bits arrive.
